There are many teacher supports as well. There are sections on how to link outcomes with students’ prior knowledge, ways to support effective reading & writing, includes questions for discussion, assessments and rubrics, ways to teach with a cross-curriculum and technology, and many other resources are provided.

An “info spot” is included for each chapter of the accompanying textbook. In this “info spot” teachers can look up a lot of relevant background information pertaining to the chapter. I would use this in the beginning of making a unit plan so I would have an idea of what I am teaching.  Other ways that I would specifically use this resource includes using it to plan unit/lesson plans. This is a great starting area to plan as it aligned with the curriculum. I would not necessarily follow every activity given in the resource though, as it may not be a great fit for your students all the time and/or you may have a different idea that you could use.

Although this resource has many strengths, I would modify it by including a section just for the program of studies where each outcome is listed and have this section show where in the textbook/activities provided where this outcome is covered. I would include in this a section where the teacher can check off the outcomes that have already been completed in order to keep track of these easily.

This resource provides a lot of great information and support for teachers. The visual layout is well organized making it easy to search for what you are looking for. This resource is aligned with the program of studies (POS) and all of the outcomes are included and shown for each chapter and activity of the book. The activities are appropriate and are designed for an inclusive classroom and even takes ELL learners into consideration.

Student centred learning is emphasized. There are many projects suggested that are student centred which also focus on the skills and processes section of the POS. A CD-ROM is included which can be used for independent work stations, or as an enrichment or remedial tool.  A section is included on how to include activities that can be done at home with parents/guardians. Other supports for students include a cd which has music and interview sections, and photo cards are also included in this resource.
